Yeah for Christmas!

Well, I figure someone has to update this blog, so I guess I'd better go ahead and do it! :) Well, let's see... Thanksgiving was fun, we had it up here in Oregon with some of our school friends. I cooked a turkey and it was a big hit. I 'brined' it, which was my first attempt at doing something like that. Turned out really good. We had a blast, and we're grateful for our friends up here and enjoy spending time with them. I don't really have any Thanksgiving pics to post, since we didn't really take any. After that, we decorated the house and went to a Christmas tree farm and cut down our Christmas tree. That was a blast. I'll really miss doing that once we leave Oregon.

As you can see, we had only a couple of trees to choose from! :) Angela also decided to play photographer and set up our own mini 'studio' to take Christmas pics of the girls. I think she did a great job:

Well, I guess that's all the news for now. We're just busy listening to Christmas music, watching Christmas movies, making goodie plates, and studying for finals! (Well, one of us is, anyways) Merry Christmas to all our friends and family out there, and this year especially may we all remember why we celebrate this holiday! We love you all!

Halloween Fun

My cute little cupcakes! Peanut wanted to take a picture with Monkey holding their elephants.
Monkey dressed up as a.......MONKEY! She was adorable. Although, she only wore the costume for a few minutes because it was too hot!
Peanut was PRINCESS PRESTO (from Super Why) and she got her face painted with flowers on it. She was so excited to go trick or treating! She kept singing, "I want candy!"
So, on Halloween, we were lucky enough to go to DISNEYLAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We had so much fun! Peanut LOVED Thunder Mtn, Splash Mtn, and Matterhorn! She was more scared going on the Pinocchio ride then the roller coasters!
The girls and their matching hats!
We went trick-or-treating at California Adventure. It was crowded that night, but it was still fun! Peanut was exhausted and fell asleep sitting in the stroller on the way to go trick or treating. They had candy stations throughout the park that you could go get candy at. We hit up a few and then went on a ride and then went back to the hotel and went to bed! We made up for our early night by getting up the next morning and hitting the park at 7 am! It was worth it cause we got to go on a lot of rides without waiting in line!

What's been going on............

A trip to the Portland Temple on a Sunday afternoon

Peanut started ballet class and LOVES it! She wanted to wear the leotard every day for a week!
Monkey is smiling all the time. It is so adorable. It melts my heart! This is one of my favorite smiles she makes. I love that she smiles with her eyes sometimes!
Peanut loves being a big sister and she is a super good helper. We love them both so much!

I've never done a tag before.......

So here it goes.

Here are 7 random/weird things about me

1. I hate the sound of stickers being pulled off of cotton fabrics. Why must companies wrap sticky paper around socks to sell them and why must my daughter LOVE putting stickers on her clothes so I have to pull them off?
2. I used to never eat breakfast and now I LOVE cereal. In fact one of my favorite kinds of cereal is Kix and Brad thinks I'm crazy because he thinks it tastes like cardboard!
3. I am completely accident prone. I broke my big toe and had to have surgery on it by playing human foosball (its like soccer, except you are attached to ropes). I went to kick the ball and ended up kicking a girl in the shin instead.
4. I despise mushrooms, but I'll eat cream of mushroom soup in things. And yes, I will do my best to avoid the mushrooms. My mom admitted a few years ago, she would hide mushrooms in certain dinners without me knowing.
5. I love Bon Jovi. Not romantically, he isn't much of a looker. I LOVE his music. One of the best concerts I went to was a Bon Jovi concert.
6. I went on a Hot Air Balloon ride at sunrise in the Arizonan Desert and it was awesome!
7. I am very indecisive. I can tell you what I don't want, but I have a hard time telling you what I DO want.

I tag KIM H. and whoever else wants to do this!

Now you can stop bugging me Jayna! :)

2 months old........

Wow how the time flies. I can't believe its been already 2 months since we became a family of four! We are loving having little "monkey" around. She is a sweetheart. She has started smiling and it melts my heart! She smiles more for Brad than me. I try and try to get her to smile, but I guess my face isn't as funny looking as Brad's! :) Just kidding! Love you hon! Peanut loves being a big sister and she is a good helper. She likes to read her stories and sing her songs if she is upset. Peanut starts preschool next week and is sooo excited about it. She asks me everyday if she gets to go to preschool that day. I think she is just excited about carrying her Princess backback!

Mommy, I'm sweaty!

This is what I woke up to at 4 in the morning. Peanut LOVES blankets and we are always having to take them off because she gets so hot, so I touched her head to see if she was hot and she was fine. I reached to give her a hug and she was soaked! Not with sweat though............Hmmm, maybe we shouldn't have put her to bed at 7 without her going potty first! :)

To Set it Straight

OK, for the 4-5 people that have asked, no, we did not really name our children 'Peanut' and 'Babykens' (or as we like to call her now, Monkey) These are nicknames, we just don't want to publish their real names on the internet, that's just us. We use our names mainly because we don't really care about us. If you want to know any 'real' information, excluding copies of our girls' birth certificates, shoot us an e-mail! :)

As an update, Ang and Monkey are doing well, and Peanut is still adjusting very well to having a baby sister. Brad is almost done with his summer semester final exams, and is looking forward to 5 weeks off to help out around the house.

Some more pics of Babykens

Here's some more pics. Mommy and Babykens were able to come home yesterday on the 4th, they both are doing very well. We shot off some fireworks in Babykens honor! (She's gonna get that her whole life now, how everyone celebrates her birthday with fireworks!) The delivery went very smoothly, and we're doing great! Thanks to Oma for coming up to help us out!
By the way, Babykens was 6lbs. 8 oz, and 18 1/4 inches.

Babykens has arrived!!!!

We're excited to announce the arrival of the newest member of our family, Babykens! All I have time for is to post some pics, more details to come. Baby and mommy are both doing fine (and so is daddy and Peanut!)

I can't believe I'm back to changing diapers! Ugh! :) More to come...

A Quick Little Trip to Seattle...............

We decided to take a quick little trip up to Seattle a couple of weeks ago. We checked into our hotel and then immediately took off walking around the city. We walked to Pike's Market, the Space Needle, to the Outback, and then we took the street car to the hotel. Luckily, we had the bike trailer, so Peanut stayed dry from the rain, and we didn't have to hold her when she got tired!
The next day, we went to the aquarium and had fun seeing the animals and walking around.
This is me at almost 31 weeks. I told Brad to stick me in the aquarium and I could be the live orca exhibit!
Peanut got to touch the starfish and the other creatures in here!
Then, she got to get her face painted! She loved having a whale on her face!

What we've been up to.....................

We decided to have a picnic up at Council Crest Park. We got there, laid our picnic blanket down, and looked up and this was our view from where we were sitting:
Mt Hood
Mt St Helens
Peanut loved playing in the grass. She also loved picking the flowers in the grass. She would blow on them and then tell us that she was "making wind"!

Brad's parents and sister were in town for a week and we had lot's of fun playing! We went to Silver Falls and had a picnic lunch before we hiked down to the waterfall. It was a little cold while we were there! I was warmer in February when we went than this time around!
We went to Cannon Beach and had lots of fun playing in the sand and flying kites and finding seashells! I love sitting on the beach and hearing the ocean. It is so relaxing!
Brad had his white coat ceremony and is now officially able to see patients in clinic! I am so proud of him and all of his hard work these past two years. It's exciting to see how far he has come! We love you and keep up the good work! Only two more years to go!

Updates.........

  • Brad is officially done with school for a week! Yea! He has to do summer school, but at least he is a THIRD YEAR and gets to go into the clinic!
  • Peanut is POTTY TRAINED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We got her a doll that can "swim" and she had to earn it by going potty. Every time she went she got a sticker on the box and after about 2 weeks, she finally got her doll! She has been dry for almost a month!
  • The rain won't stop! It is May and it is still raining. It hailed 2 days ago. There is something wrong with that!
  • I am in my THIRD Trimester! 3 months to go! I can't wait!
  • We took Peanut bowling last night for the second time in her life. The first time, we didn't take pictures, so I had to make up for it last night. Here are a couple of my favorites:
